Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) explosive exposé of Daisy Midgley’s (Charlotte Jordan) affair and catfishing of Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) has finally been published – with devastating some home truths being spilled.
Bethany had pitched the article to gossip magazine Chit-Chat in an act of desperation to get her hands on some cash since arriving back in Weatherfield on New Year’s Eve.
During a conversation with Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), she secretly recorded every word the teen told her about Daisy’s ordeal in the wake of the devastating acid attack on her wedding day to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
When Daniel found out about the article, he ordered Bethany to take it down but it was too late – it had gone to publishing.Over the last week, Bethany has thrown compliments in Daisy’s direction anticipating the pain she will feel when she reads the tell-all.
In tonight’s (29th February) episode, Daisy saw a glimmer of a potential reconciliation with her ex-fiancée when he asked her to mind his son Bertie for a few hours.
As the Rovers staff prepared for Rita Tanner’s (Barbara Knox) 92nd birthday, Daisy gushed to Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) about Daniel and a touching moment they’d shared earlier in the week.
When the article finally dropped, Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) accidentally shared it amongst the regulars – much to Daisy’s horror.
She charged over to the builder’s yard flat and confronted Bethany, recalling the time that she kissed Daniel whilst his late wife Sinead (Katie McGlynn) was dying.
Convinced that Daniel hates her, she swanned off into town to get drunk.Upcoming scenes will see her seek revenge on Bethany, but how will she feel when Ryan makes a surprise return from Glasgow?
