Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper ‘set to be’ jailed in grim vanishing story as huge conclusion is jumped to
Kind-hearted Roy Cropper (David Neilson) could be about to make a huge mistake in Coronation Street as people grow concerned about Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance.
A few weeks ago, after losing her job at the cafe, Lauren told Roy that she would be leaving Weatherfield to start afresh. Later that day, friend Bobby (Jack Carroll) visited Lauren’s flat and felt worried when he found it empty.
After speaking to the police about Lauren going missing, and the fact he spotted bruises on her arm, Bobby decides to go one step further soon and records an appeal with Suki from the Gazette, hoping it will help with finding Lauren.
Suki interviews Roy as well, but his appeal is underwhelming which leaves Bobby in despair.
Later, Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) visits Roy and tells him that she’s had to let Lauren’s flat go due to the landlord discovering she’d been sub-letting it.
Still remaining hopeful, Roy tells Evelyn that Lauren has more than likely left Weatherfield to start a new life, and will be absolutely fine.
In the week, after learning that Evelyn is going to get charged due to the state Lauren’s flat has been left in, Roy decides to let himself in and starts to clean it up, unaware this kind gesture could end up being something he regrets.
When Bobby arrives – someone who barely knows Roy – he’s left deeply suspicious to spot him going through Lauren’s things.
Back at home, Bobby tells Carla (Alison King) and Ryan (Ryan Prescott) that someone called DirtyNigel54 – from the platform OVidz – posted online that they’ve spotted Lauren, so he’s going to meet them to find out more.
But where will this lead Bobby?
As fears continue to increase for the young woman, Roy innocently getting himself involved in her life could turn out to be a terrible mistake.
Past pictures have shown the loved café owner being forced to appear in court as part of an upcoming storyline, but could this be to do with Lauren?
If Lauren doesn’t return within the next few weeks, will Roy become a person of interest if an investigation is launched?
