Corrie Lauren Bolton’s secret boyfriend ‘revealed’ — and it’s someone on the cobbles

Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton is smitten with a mystery boyfriend – and now AI and fans reckon they know his identity.

The character, played by Cait Fitton, has been causing drama on the cobbles ever since she arrived in November last year. And things are only set to get more explosive this week.

Recently, Lauren has been dropping hints about her rich boyfriend who has treated her to gifts. However, those around her have suspicions that he doesn’t actually exit.

In Monday’s episode (January 15) Max Turner (Paddy Bever) invited Lauren over for tea with his girlfriend Sabrina Adetiba, who also invited Gav. Trying to get more information about Lauren’s secret boyfriend, Sabrina suggested to Lauren that she bring him too – leaving her looking rather worried.

In the evening, Lauren joined her pals at the Platts residence and told everyone her boyfriend couldn’t make it as he was working late. However, later on, Lauren received a message from her boyfriend who wanted to meet up.

Lauren soon made her excuses and left but her pals were stumped. Discussing her mystery beau, they wondered if he even existed as no one has ever seen him. Max also pointed out how the situation is “really weird.”

Now fans and AI are convinced they’ve worked out the truth about Lauren’s boyfriend. According to AI, it reckons Lauren could be shacking up with none other than cobbles resident Daniel Osbourne.

As fans will recall Daniel (Rob Mallard) has had a rather dramatic few months. Last year, he found out that his fiancé Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) had slept with Ryan Connor.

At the time, he didn’t let slip that he knew, but the truth came out eventually and Daisy and Daniel soon called it quits. But the cobbles was rocked by the arrival of Daniel’s ex Bethany Platt in the New Year. And it didn’t take long for her to fall into Daniel’s bed – with the pair bonking straight away.

However, in episodes this week, Max watches on as Daniel chats to Lauren on the street after claiming she had dumped her boyfriend. Daniel then puts his hand on her shoulder – while Max looks on suspiciously.

Now, it’s been claimed the pair could actually be in a secret relationship. Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see who Lauren’s secret boyfriend could be. The program responded: “The mystery boyfriend could be someone unexpected, even someone already established in the Corrie universe. This would create a shocking reveal and open up new avenues for storylines involving both Lauren and the revealed individual.”

As for who the system reckons could be her boyfriend it said Daniel Osbourne. Bard AI explained: “Some fans have noticed Lauren and Daniel’s connection and wonder if the writers might be building towards a surprise twist.”

The program also pointed out potential “unrequited feelings” between the characters. It said: “There have been suggestions that Lauren might have developed feelings for Daniel, but it’s unclear if he reciprocates them.”

Fans have also shared their thoughts on Lauren’s mystery boyfriend. On X, formerly known as Twitter, plenty reckon he’s not actually real.

“I’m still not convinced this mystery boyfriend of Lauren’s is even real,” one person mused. Someone else added: “Lauren lying about her boyfriend again.”
