ITV Coronation Street murder twist as Lauren Bolton ‘confirmed dead’ after ‘violent assault’
Coronation Street viewers saw detectives issuing a chilling update about missing Lauren Bolton on the ITV soap on Wednesday night, with it claimed she had likely been murdered
Coronation Street aired a death twist on Wednesday night, as police suggested a character had been murdered on the ITV soap.
Lauren Bolton, who has been missing for weeks, was thought to be dead according to detectives looking into her disappearance. After a gruesome discovery at her flat, police spotted signs of a violent assault and believed someone had killed Lauren in her flat.
DS Swain confirmed in a radio interview that the search continued for Lauren, ahead of a Weatherfield favourite being arrested for her murder in an upcoming episode. She revealed all clues pointed towards her being dead and sadly being murdered by a mystery person.
It was claimed that forensic evidence found at her flat was consistent with a violent assault. While they remained open-minded as to who or what led to Lauren going missing, they were keen to find out who was responsible as it was revealed detectives were now treating her disappearance as a possible murder inquiry.
Her loved ones and others tuning into the radio broadcast were shocked and saddened by the news, while her tutor Daniel Osbourne was panicked after being questioned by Swain. She suggested he was offering her tutoring for sex after Max Turner claimed Daniel was Lauren’s mystery boyfriend.
It followed bloodstains being found at Lauren’s flat just a day after Roy Cropper had cleaned the place up. Weeks on from her going missing, blood splatters were found on the curtains and it was quite a lot.
Sean Tully had looked around the flat to possibly rent it, only to find the blood on the fabric. When Bobby Crawford found this out he headed straight to the police station, and officers began work on searching the flat.

A whole team of investigators entered the flat and did a thorough search after the tip-off, with them finding money stashed under a mattress. But the more worrying discovery came when they checked the curtains for blood stains, and found a lot of it all over them.
As DS Swain and fellow officer Craig Tinker reeled from their find, it seemed they were keen to explore the possibility of Lauren having been harmed or killed. Roy fell under suspicion on Monday night, after Swain learned about him cleaning the flat, as well as him giving Lauren a job and a place to stay.
Roy was mortified over the interrogation he faced, while detectives were no closer to finding out where Lauren was. Roy is soon arrested for the crime in upcoming scenes, but is Lauren really dead?
