And in upcoming scenes next week, it appears Joel’s secret is teased as he is confronted by a mystery woman on the ITV soap. The week starts off with Adam Barlow asking Dee-Dee and Joel about a firearms case he’s taken on and wonders if they’ve dealt with anything similar.
Later, Adam, who has been left seething over his ex-wife Sarah Platt reuniting with lover Damon Hay, is left angry when at Sarah’s birthday celebration, Damon hands out shots to Audrey, Gail, Bethany, Nick and Sarah, toasting the latter’s birthday. Yet it’s not long until Dee-Dee and Joel arrive at the Bistro to tell him that they might have cracked his case, is Adam’s luck about to change?
However, while things look more positive for Adam, Joel appears to be spooked by a blast from the past later in the week. In the episodes, Dee-Dee complains that she’s snowed under with work to which Joel offers to meet a new client on her behalf and pass on notes.
Later, Joel meets up with Dee-Dee’s client in the Bistro but they are soon interrupted by the arrival of mystery woman, Emily, who is clearly very angry. In a panic, Joel, who is spooked, steers Emily out. However, the commotion doesn’t go unnoticed by Toyah Battersby, who watches on intrigued as she wonders who this mystery woman is. Who is Emily and will Toyah tell Dee-Dee what she witnessed?

However, as Bethany and Daniel toasted in 2024, Bethany made a cryptic phone call while Daniel went out to get food. She said: “It’s me, I withheld my number. Look, I know that I messed up but you have to give me a second chance,” to which the call then abruptly came to an end as Bethany asked if anyone was still there.
Soap watchers have been left intrigued ever since and this week offers an insight into the secret as she hides the truth from her loved ones. In upcoming scenes, Daniel finds Bethany engrossed in writing an article in the café but when he enquires what it’s about, Bethany is evasive.
Later, Bethany calls her publisher but she’s disappointed when they make it clear they’re not interested in her article. Things go from bad to worse later in the week when Daniel reminds Bethany it’s her turn to treat him to tea. However, Bethany lies and makes out she can’t as she’s working to a deadline.
It’s not long before Bethany checks her bank balance and looks at her overdraft with concern, but she quickly covers in front of mum Sarah, who is none the wiser. Later in the week, Bethany meets with Suki from the Gazette in the hopes of some work and she advises her to try Chit-Chat Magazine as they may be looking for someone.

Later, Bethany decides to grill Daniel’s student, Lauren Bolton, for gossip about Daisy and Ryan. The troubled youngster, who previously blackmailed Daisy and Ryan over their affair, is only too happy to spill, unaware that Bethany is recording their conversation.
However, things take a dramatic turn later in the week when Daniel answers a call on Bethany’s phone from the editor of Chit-Chat Magazine, leaving Bethany forced to come clean. Bethany admits that she has submitted an article about him, Daisy and Ryan, leaving Daniel gobsmacked. Will he get over the betrayal and will Bethany go ahead with the article?
