Corrie star Colson Smith ‘buzzing’ to be back on set – and straight into murder storyline
Coronation Street star Colson Smith has left the Celebrity Big Brother house and jetted straight back to the cobbles.
The actor, known for his role as Craig Tinker in the soap since 2011, came in 3rd place behind Strictly star Nikita Kuzmin and Ibiza Weekender rep David Potts in ITV’s revival of the hit reality show.
During his time on the show he came to blows with Reggae Reggae Sauce inventor Levi Roots who branded his behaviour as ‘boring’.
But there’s no rest for the wicked – despite the live final airing on Friday evening, he’s had only the weekend to recover before donning his police uniform again.

In a video posted to Coronation Street’s Instagram story, Colson, 25, thanked fans for their support and said he was ‘buzzing’ to be back.
‘Hello everyone, it’s Colson and I am back on the cobbles today after three weeks away in the Big Brother house’ he began.
‘I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me during my time away – all the messages of support have been amazing,’
‘I’ve absolutely loved my time as a housemate but I’m so buzzing to be back playing Craig Tinker on the streets of Weatherfield because there’s someone who’s got to keep them safe, isn’t there? That’s me, and I’m back’ he added.
He also posted a series of stories to his own socials, including pictures of his scripts, commenting on the Mancunian rain and another saying it was ‘nice to be back home’.
‘Big Brother jet lag is a real thing’ he chirped on another.
His words came just hours after an interview with on breakfast show Good Morning Britain with hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley yesterday (25th March).
Speaking via video link from Corrie’s 7.7 acre production site in Trafford, Greater Manchester, Colson spoke about his busy weekend.
‘Literally straight out the house, slept in London, had the wrap party, into a car, script straight in front of me, ready to get back on the beat,’
‘But today I only have one line. So you know, I can’t complain today, they are easing me back in Weatherfield.’
‘I’m excited to get back in the green room with everyone today and listen to what they thought, find out what they enjoyed in the show and share stories of my time in the house’ he added.
Craig Tinker’s incoming return comes amid Roy Cropper (David Neilson) being implicated for the apparent murder of troubled teen Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
Whilst the case has so far been investigated by colleague DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), there’s no doubt that he’ll soon be thrown into the drama.
