Character prison fears
Coronation Street will air a surprise in the Lauren Bolton story as another character faces prison. Roy Cropper has been the prime suspect for the disappearance and death of Lauren Bolton, and next week, we will see Roy get arrested after DS Swain is convinced he is the only person that can be responsible for what happened. On Friday’s episode, we will see DS Swain take Roy in for questioning as his solicitor Dee Dee sits alongside him.
She sees him as responsible for what happened, and both Roy and Dee-Dee are shocked when she brings up his history. Dee Dee later returns to Roys Rolls on her own, where she confirms to those there that Roy has been charged with Lauren’s murder
He is left worried next week when he gets summoned to the station to face further questioning. In the prison, Roy refuses to leave the cell and won’t eat. DS Swain leaves Bobby shaken when she reminds him that perverting the course of justice is very serious. Bobby heads home to Carla, where he tells her that under pressure, he saw a man waring a balaclava and a dark coat with a fur-trimmed hood. When Bobby tells the others he’s changed his statement, Cassie, Evelyn and Nina are all interested to see if this can help get Roy out of the problem he’s in. When they recognise the coat and where it’s come from – has Bobby unwittingly accused Daniel?
Big return
Coronation Street have announced the return of a huge character as Weatherfield continue to search for ‘missing’ Lauren. Kimberly-Hart Simpson will be back as Nicky Wheatley for an upcoming storyline surrounding the Lauren case.
The young teenager disappeared several weeks ago, with Roy Cropper currently in the frame for her disappearance or death. The police are convinced she must be dead after DS Swain noted that the blood they found at her flat was in line with an assault of some sort.
In the coming weeks, Kimberly will reprise her role as Nicky when Daniel goes looking for his old friend in the hope to find out who really attacked or killed Lauren as both him and Roy Cropper are in the frame. He decides to reach out to Nicky to clear his name, as she has worked as an escort herself and met Daniel over four years ago when he turned to her after losing his wife Sinead to cancer.
Nicky now works as an outreach worker in the community and Daniel is hopeful that she might be able to speak to the girls she supports on the streets and find out more about what happened to Lauren.
Exit sealed
Coronation Street looks on course to air a huge exit next week – as the actress departs her role after nine years. Alya Nazir could depart the Cobbles next week in a big turn of events. Sair Khan, the actress who plays Alya, is pregnant with her first child and is expected to take maternity leave soon – and it could be next week as a new plot line is revealed.
Next week on the ITV soap, Adam meets up with a new client called Rebecca. He orders them a bottle of wine as they enjoy a night in the bar of Chariot Square Hotel and it’s clear there is a spark between the pair.
When Alya gives him a call to say he needs to be back in the office for a meeting, Adam decides to end the call. Back at the office, Alya meets up with Rich from Fabian’s in Adam’s place and he is very impressed with her skills.
Rich tells her that he is impressed with her knowledge and she has the skills to go all the way as a future partner in the firm. Meanwhile, Adam and Rebecca head back to the Cobbles, where he invites her to the office. As the meeting ends between Alya and Rich, Adam and Rebecca burst in mid-kiss, and Rich is far from impressed.
Later in the week, Alya decides she wants to work for Rich and accepts the job offer. Adam and Dee-Dee are struggling without Alya helping to keep things organised, whilst Rich takes Alya for lunch and says she’ll make a great partner one day.
Adam later gets an email from a client to say they’re transferring all their business to Fabian. How will Adam react when he finds out that he is losing a lot of his work and that Alya has poached one of their biggest clients?
New romance
Sparks are due to fly in the cobbles as Coronation Street bosses have confirmed a new love interest for single Adam Barlow. The solicitor portrayed by Sam Robertson continues to reel from his explosive split from wife Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien). But next week, his feelings for established character Alya (Sair Khan) are due to become apparent as they row over her future at the solicitor’s firm.
It all begins when Adam meets up with new client Rebecca at the Chariot Square Hotel – a new guest in the Manchester-based drama played by Hollyoaks actress Gemma Merna. The pair hit it off and flirt before Alya calls to warn him he is needed back in the office for a meeting – but he ignores her concerns and hangs up.
