Coronation Street and Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has opened up about her recent trip to hospital after doctors feared she may have pneumonia.
The actress, who recently played Courtney Vance in the ITV soap, had to contact her doctor after experiencing a cough for three weeks.
The GP then told her to go to A&E, worried she had contracted the lung infection.
Stephanie, 31, was thankfully told she just had an infection. She was given medication to aid her cough and was then sent home.
Taking to Instagram, the actress – who also portrayed Sinead O’Connor in Hollyoaks – told her followers about the ordeal and how thankful she was for her mum’s support during it.
‘Had a bad chest infection for three weeks now. Went to the doctors today and they sent me to hospital thinking it was pneumonia, thankfully it’s just a really bad infection I can’t shift. My lovely mum sat with me for most of the day’, she said.
‘So grateful for all she does and has done for me. Felt like it was a therapy session. We ended the day on a good laugh, nearly wetting ourselves in the car park when she screamed thinking her car was bashed, dinted and scratched and then vigorously tried to wipe the mark off to realise it wasn’t her car.’
‘Love you mum, thank you for always being there.’
Stephanie went on to reveal she has antibiotics and steroids to help her recover and hopes she ‘can have a day cough free soon’.
Back at the start of the year, Stephanie revealed to fans that she had been busy working on some new music.
While sharing a picture of herself in a recording studio, she wrote online: ‘When I was Recording my Album in Memphis. What an journey what a time. Not long till the first single release now…. Stay tuned!’
Stephanie’s Corrie character Courtney Vance was part of a storyline that saw her have an affair with Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain).
Courtney and Aadi developed a connection and even moved in together, but the plot ended with Aadi a heartbroken young man, as Courtney chose to get back with husband Darren over pursuing a relationship with him.
