Roy ‘saved’ in Coronation Street as he remembers game-changing detail about ‘murdered’ Lauren
There’s a small glimmer of hope for Roy Cropper (David Neilson) in Coronation Street this coming week as he remembers a detail about Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) that could help free him from prison.
Roy is currently behind bars for the murder of Lauren, the young woman who went missing a few months ago.
Aware of his innocence, Roy’s friends and family are working hard to find a shred of evidence that proves he wasn’t involved in Lauren’s disappearance.
In upcoming episodes, Roy calls the cafe hoping to speak with Nina (Mollie Gallagher). Shona (Julie Goulding) passes the phone to Carla (Alison King) but she hangs up and hurries out.
Back in his prison cell, Roy has another flashback of Lauren approaching the cafe counter, but notices something odd about her clothes. Unfortunately, his chain of thought is interrupted due to a prison officer banging on the door.
Later that day, Nina arrives at the visiting room ready to see Roy. However, as time ticks away, she starts to worry.
Nina then tells a prison officer that she’s waiting for Roy Cropper. The officer makes his way to Roy’s cell but when he gets there, he finds the beloved character collapsed on the floor.
In the hospital, when Roy reveals to Mary (Patti Clare) that he’s trying to remember the details of a conversation he overheard between Lauren and Max (Paddy Bever), Mary tells him to not give up – if it’s of significance, he will remember it eventually.
Towards the end of the week, Roy speaks to Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) about Lauren’s necklace. He says that if they can trace where it’s from, they might be able to trace her mystery boyfriend.
It’s a positive sign – but is it enough to save Roy?
