Coronation Street fans will find out some huge news in the missing Lauren Bolton case next week, as text messages discovered on her phone could explain what happened to her
Coronation Street may be lining up a new suspect in the Lauren Bolton murder case according to spoilers.
Roy Cropper is currently in the frame, being sent to prison after police claimed there was enough evidence to confirm he is Lauren’s killer. We don’t yet know if Lauren is definitely dead, but blood and human tissue traces found at her flat, along with a weapon, have left detectives convinced she has been killed.
Poor Roy can’t prove his innocence, and his solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey is desperate to find out the truth to free him. There could be a turning point in the case next week, as spoilers reveal some text messages are unearthed.
They could indicate what really happened to Lauren and who was involved, and it could certainly change everything. It’s not been revealed what is said in the messages and who has sent them to Lauren.
Dee-Dee takes a call from the CPS informing her that they have some news regarding Lauren’s phone messages. They’ve been analysed, and it seems there’s been a discovery linked to them – while viewers will have to tune in next week to find out that they mean.
As Dee-Dee tells Roy’s loved ones Carla and Nina about the messages which have come to light, how will they react and could it it be good news for Roy? Perhaps they reveal what Lauren was planning before she vanished, or who might have taken or hurt her.
Maybe they indicate her fate, or her whereabouts. Bethany Platt overhears the conversation and she’s left reeling. She sneaks into the solicitors office and manages to find Lauren’s file on Dee-Dee’s desk.
Judging by spoiler images, Bethany seems shocked by what she finds as she reads the file. But where does the storyline go from here, and can Dee-Dee finally get Roy freed?
It comes amid speculation from viewers that recent scenes involving Lauren’s mystery necklace could suggest Dee-Dee’s partner Joel Deering is involved. They also think rapist Nathan Curtis is involved amid his random return to the show.
