Sick Nathan Curtis targets Bethany Platt again after horrifying grooming discovery in Coronation Street
Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) was left horrified in recent Coronation Street scenes when she spotted abuser Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) at Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) reconstruction.
In upcoming scenes, Bethany grows certain that he is to blame for Lauren’s disappearance, and makes it her mission to get to the truth.
After overhearing a conversation between solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and Carla Connor and Nina Lucas (Alison King and Mollie Gallagher), Bethany finds a way into the solicitors office and manages to locate Lauren’s file.
The next day, Bethany quizzes Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) on Nathan’s alibi, and it doesn’t take him long to let slip that he was with his girlfriend, who works at a nail bar in town.
Horrified, Bethany is quick to point out that Nathan was running a tanning shop when he started grooming her.
Elsewhere, Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) concerns continue to grow, and she soon confides in Gary Windass (Mikey North) that she’s worried about how fixated Bethany is on trying to pin Lauren’s murder on Nathan.
Things reach a dramatic head when Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and Bethany later head out, only to be confronted by a furious Nathan, who rails at Bethany for harassing his girlfriend.
Following the incident, Sarah, Gary and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) gather in the Rovers to discuss Nathan, where they decide that enough is enough – they need to do something to stop him ruining Bethany’s life all over again.
On the building site, as Nathan packs up for the day, he is suddenly struck over the head by a hooded figure and knocked unconscious. But who is responsible?
As Bethany tries to figure out who Nathan’s attacker was, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) has a lot of questions about the stains on David’s jeans, and isn’t entirely convinced when he protests his innocence.
When David promises Sarah and Bethany that he had nothing to do with it, he is interrupted by Shona, who reveals that a tracking app placed him at the building site at the time of the attack.
Relenting, David admits that he was there and witnessed the attack but swears that he wasn’t the hooded figure.
With David out of the hot seat, Bethany is convinced that Daniel is to blame – but is she right?
