Coronation Street spoilers: Sarah makes a staggering and life-changing confession after committing shocking act

Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) takes drastic action to banish evil Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) from daughter Bethany (Lucy Fallon)’s life in upcoming Coronation Street episodes, by planting evidence to frame him for the killing of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

Back in 2017 Bethany’s life was blighted when Nathan groomed her over a long period and raped her. Although he went to prison for his crimes he’s recently returned to Weatherfield and Sarah is determined that her daughter won’t have to suffer the trauma of him being around.

He seems determined to provoke Bethany, driving his van past her and freaking her out. Sarah and Bethany report this incident to the police, stating that he’s broken the terms of his licence by harassing Bethany.

Sarah later pays him a visit to remind him that he’s accepted £10,000 from her to leave Weatherfield, but is shocked when Nathan just laughs at her and obviously has no intention of going anywhere.

So Sarah comes up with a cunning plan. She has a nice piece of Lauren’s DNA because Lauren left a hair bobble at the Platts’ house. She takes this accessory to the building site where Nathan works, planning to plant it in Nathan’s van to be found by the police as evidence that Nathan had something to do with Lauren’s disappearance.

Unfortunately before she can complete what she’s doing police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) catches her and she’s forced to admit what she was up to.

‘She’s really scared,’ Tina O’Brien told us. ‘She realises there is a possibility she could be caught out here and be charged. Obviously she knows it’s illegal but she’s been blinded by her want and need to protect Bethany and not thought the consequences through.’

Sarah is lucky, as Kit lets her off with a warning to let the police do their job and not get involved. Not long after that, Nathan is arrested.

When Sarah sees Kit later she asks him if anything was found in Nathan’s van and he tells her that they discovered one of Lauren’s hairs. He thinks it must have come from the hair bobble that Sarah brought, but says he’ll keep her name out of it.

When Sarah admits what she did to Bethany and Daniel (Rob Mallard), Daniel is furious. He points out that if Nathan isn’t the person who abducted Lauren Bolton, he could go to prison because of Sarah’s actions – while the real killer walks free.

Has Sarah just made a massive mistake?
