Coronation Street’s Jacob Roberts hints at split from long-term girlfriend
Coronation Street heartthrob Jacob Roberts appears to have split with his girlfriend Amy Harris after he noticeably deleted all pictures of them together according to reports
Coronation Street star Jacob Roberts has reportedly split with his girlfriend Amy Harris – after five years together.
The 33-year-old actor, who joined the ITV soap as Christopher “Kit” Green, seemingly confirmed rumours of a split after deleting all pictures of the pair together from his social media. Amy, who works as a PR, has now reportedly done the same thing – marking a permanent end to their lengthy relationship. Before their break-up, however, the couple would regularly post photos of themselves out at dinner or attending events together.
The breakdown of their romance comes after Jacob joined the ITV soap having previously appeared in Hollyoaks. In the Channel 4 soap, he played Damon Kinsella between 2017 and 2023. But he then fell victim to a casting cull by show bosses. However now, the star has firmly found his feet in Weatherfield as his storyline starts to take shape. Kit is a police officer who was introduced to the cobbles on the back of Lauren Bolton’s disappearance. He also works in the same department as Craig Tinker, played by Celebrity Big Brother star Colson Smith.

He is also the estranged son of Bernie Winters, played by Jane Hazlegrove and according to the actress, their frosty exchange is just the start for the pair. She has previously said: “Bernie is carrying huge guilt over Kit. She’s managed to bury this guilt for years but deep down, she’s never stopped thinking about him and his well-being. I believe Bernie would love to begin building a relationship with Kit and try to fix all of her wrongs.”
However, despite a desire to reconnect with him, she knows that her son still holds a high level of resentment towards her. He is also out for revenge amid the devastation of her other son Paul is dying from MND, which is Motor neurone disease. Jane warned: “She has always imagined what he would be like but I think she perhaps realises that he’s not as decent as she had hoped he would be so she also now needs to face the reality of what and who he is rather than the imagined son she’s always kept in her head and heart for all of these years.”

Speaking of landing the role, he said: “It’s absolutely amazing… when I walked on set for the first time it felt a bit overwhelming because the attention to detail is just incredible, it actually makes you feel that you are on a real street.” He added: “My mum and dad are really chuffed too which is lovely. My mum has always watched Coronation Street, I’ve always kept up to date with it too, so it just feels surreal to be here. Meeting all of the cast and crew was great, I really do feel at home here.”
Keen to explore of facets of his character, he continued: “I’m looking forward to everyone meeting Kit but I do think he is going to be a very misunderstood character at first. He’s been really hurt throughout his life and although he has a good heart, he has some deep-rooted resentment with his biological mum, Bernie, which will be really interesting to play out.” The Mirror has reached out to ITV for a comment.
