Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall has given another update on his rehab journey following his knee operation.
Best known for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap since 1998, he recently split from his co-star girlfriend Tish Merry, who played Steph Britton.
They met on set back in 2014 and started dating in 2019 when she left her role.
The breakup occurred just months after having an operation to fix an ACL injury.
The ACL, or anterior cruciate ligament, crosses in the middle of the knee and connects the thighbone to the shinbone to stabilise your joint.
It can be injured in a variety of ways, usually by stopping suddenly or changing momentum when running or cycling.
To facilitate his operation and recovery, Tyrone was written out of the show to go on holiday with wife Fiz (Jennie McAlpine), but Alan has since returned to filming.
Despite feeling better, Alan is still not back to 100% and is often seen on social media expressing the frustration over not being able to play his favourite sport – golf!
Taking to Instagram Stories, Alan enjoyed a game of virtual golf – which is never as good as the real thing, let’s be real.
He wrote alongside: ‘A whole year off and still rehabbing my knee! I’m gonna need so much help… These shots are woeful’.
In the most recent update, there was positive progress for Alan in his recovery, as he shared the results of his latest round of virtual golf with his followers.
He wrote on his Instagram Stories: ‘I’ve just hit 10 shots with my driver! And no pain!’.
Given the journey the beloved face has been on since his operation, suffice to say this moment meant a lot to Alan.
Over in Weatherfield, Tyrone Dobbs may be in for a shock soon as his ex-girlfriend Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) is rumoured to be returning.
Prior to Alina’s departure from the show, it was confirmed she’s pregnant with Tyrone’s baby.
Ever since, it’s always been in the back of fans’ minds as to whether she and baby could return, and a recent tweet seems to have confirmed this.
