Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) is taken aback in upcoming Coronation Street episodes as she deals with two pieces of shocking news.

Life for Maria so far this year has been traumatic. Her young son Liam (Charlie Wrenshall) was relentlessly bullied by Mason (Luca Toolan) and his gang and things got so bad, he started to google ways he could end his life.

Thankfully, Liam was found in time by Maria and Gary (Mikey North) before anything happened. He was able to get help for his mental health and with time, started to open up about the horrific ordeal Mason put him through.

After it transpired that Mason had threatened Liam with a knife, he was arrested and charged, before being found guilty of the crime in court.

Because this wasn’t his first offence, the judge had no choice but to give him a custodial sentence.

In this new video, Maria is seen heading into the police station, but gets a surprise to see Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) also there.

She quickly covers by saying she was looking for an update on Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) and then wonders why Maria needs to see a police officer.

She explains that she’s discovered Mason is being released, and now wants to know if any restrictions will be put in place for the evil teen in order to keep Liam protected.

Sarah seems desperate to get Maria away from the station and talks about getting a coffee. Maria doesn’t accept the offer, but then gets another surprise when Gary walks out from an interview room.

Maria demands to know what is going on – but what will Gary and Sarah have to say?
