EXCLUSIVE: Kym Marsh’s friends fear her new toyboy romance will ‘fizzle out’ leaving her ‘hurt’

Kym Marsh's friends speak out to the Mirror about her new toyboy romance saying they are happy she has found love with such a 'nice lad' but are worried it could ‘fizzle out’ in time

Kym Marsh’s friends have said they are happy she has found love but are worried it could ‘fizzle out’ leaving her ‘hurt’.

The actor and singer has been married three times and is now in a relationship with Samuel Thomas after meeting him while working together on a production of ‘101 Dalmatians The Musical’. A friend of Kym’s said: “Samuel seems a really nice lad and we are pleased for Kym and she seems really happy again. But it is a unique situation when you are working together on a show and spending so much time together. The relationship will have to change when the show ends and they have their own lives and new projects to work on. Hopefully the spark will continue and the relationship will become a long term one. Kym is headstrong and throws herself into romance, I hope she doesn’t get hurt or it doesn’t fizzle out. Unfortunately she has had her fair share of bad luck in love.”

The pair made the romance Instagram official by sharing a picture of the pair kissing. Alongside a photo of them together, Kym wrote: “Met the most amazing man ever! Sometimes the most unexpected things happen at the most unexpected times. @samuelthomasuk I love you #beautiful #soulmate #loveyou.” Samuel replied to her post by commenting: “I love you”. He also added a picture of the pair together on his own Instagram account, writing: “I didn’t expect you, but here you are. I love you.” Kim replied to the post: “Ditto. The best things happen unexpectedly. Love you too.”

However the Mirror has also revealed how her new boyfriend “put a smile on her face” after her third marriage broke down.

A source close to Kym said: “She was quite down after the split from Scott Ratcliff and threw herself into her work. She was filming Waterloo Road again while doing a stage tour – and then as luck would have it she met Sam. It started as a friendship but has quickly developed into something more. Kym is sure this relationship is the real deal and is telling anyone who will listen she is in love again.” Kym and Scott originally tied the knot in October 2021 in a romantic ceremony involving 150 guests. They seemed lucky in love initially, but they parted ways in May 2023, only 19 months after saying ‘I do’. When discussing her failed marriage with The Guardian, the soap star said it was ‘just experience.’

She added: “I think I am a risk-taker because ‘What if’ is always worse.” Before tying the knot to Scott, Kym was in a number of high-profile romances with celebrities, including former EastEnders star Jack Ryder, who she fell for after meeting in a BBC canteen. According to reports, she fell for the Jamie Mitchell actor in 2001 when she bumped into him in the staff canteen. They were quick to fall for one another and began to date. It wasn’t long before they tied the knot at St. Albans parish church in Hertford in 2002. They were together for six years before ending it in 2008. Their divorce was finalised in 2009. She later fell for another soap star, fellow Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas.

Within a year, she fell pregnant. Sadly, in a heartbreaking twist, at just 21 weeks she went into labour because of a condition that meant her body was rejecting the baby. This meant that her son Archie sadly died just minutes after being born. The couple welcomed a daughter in 2011, married in 2012 and divorced in 2014. She also dated Coronation Street co-star Oliver Mellor in 2013.
