Coronation Street is set for dramatic scenes involving Lauren Bolton in the next few days and the character's fate appears to have been 'confirmed' in new spoilers
Coronation Street is set for dramatic scenes involving Lauren Bolton in the next few days.
Viewers will recall that Lauren made a shock comeback earlier this month as Cait Fitton reprised her role. Weeks on from a brutal attack by Joel, which Weatherfield residents still don’t know about, Lauren, who was believed to be dead, was revealed to be alive as she headed to the hospital to visit Roy Cropper after he suffered a heart attack weeks on from him being wrongly imprisoned for Lauren’s ‘murder’.
And things only got more explosive when Joel confronted Lauren at the hospital, forcing her into a family room and pleading with her not to reveal what happened. As violent and evil Joel went to lash out again, Lauren protected her stomach revealing she was five months pregnant with his baby in a huge bombshell before fleeing the hospital.
Since then, Joel has been hiding Lauren in an empty flat and is still secretly visiting her as he attempts to get her move to Ireland sorted. In episodes this week, there’s horror for Lauren who gets mugged and later in the week a pregnant Lauren suddenly collapses at the flat with no one around, with her suffering pains in her stomach as she fears she’s losing her baby.

Talking about the storyline, soap expert Sharon Marshall appeared to let slip Lauren’s fate on Wednesday’s This Morning. The soap writer said: “This week we are going back to the Joel and Lauren storyline. He has tried to murder her before, she’s locked in Joel’s flat, she’s pregnant with his kid, is she going to be okay? Probably not!”
Meanwhile, spoilers for next week issue an update as viewers see Lauren terrified as her prematurely born son lies in an incubator as she fears whether he will survive. Later, DS Lisa Swain arrives at the hospital intent on asking Lauren some questions. Will she come clean about Joel? Later in the week, Max Turner visits an emotional Lauren and insists on taking her for lunch. Will Lauren and the baby be okay?
It comes as in recent episodes, Joel’s real sick plan was revealed as he was seen searching on his laptop: “What drugs can induce premature labour” and with Lauren in hospital, does this mean Joel has gone through with his evil plan? It comes as Coronation Street star Calum Lill has warned viewers that the worst is yet to come for his villainous character Joel.
