EXCLUSIVE: Coronation Street star lets slip couple’s future in seven-word hint after return twist
One Coronation Street couple’s future has been sealed, amid a shock return twist and a DNA bombshell.
Tyrone Dobbs learned shocking news this week that he had a secret son. Wednesday’s episode saw him find out his ex Alina Pop was back in Weatherfield three years after she left.
Viewers may recall Alina sadly suffered a miscarriage in 2021 after a fire caused by Tyrone’s stepdaughter Hope. After this she learned she was pregnant again, but claimed to Tyrone she was mistaken – while viewers saw her gently holding her stomach as she left the street.
So when he found out on Wednesday that his wife Fiz Brown suspected Alina’s child was his son, Tyrone was rocked. He was unable to track her down though, only to come face-to-face with her on Friday.
Alina was horrified to be back on the street, but did give Tyrone the truth – he was the father of her young son. Tyrone spent time with both of them with it even teased they could be sticking around, while Fiz felt a little bit pushed out.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, actor Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, let slip the likely future of the pair after past struggles. While he said there would be drama ahead after Alina’s return and the child twist, he dropped a major hint over the state of Fiz and Tyrone’s marriage and if they will last.
He told us: “Tyrone is clearly worried about his wife… even though he might not do the right thing sometimes he wants to, and he wants to do the right thing by his family. I think initially what we will see is that strength that Tyrone and Fiz have, there’s trust there, you do see they have a strong bond in marriage.”
So it seems despite the chaos ahead with “emotions running high”, there’s no plans for Fiz and Tyrone to call it a day. On whether Alina could change that this time around, Alan said: “He’s seen the error of his ways, he always wanted to be with Fiz, be that family guy. Him and Fiz are really strong but who knows, it’s soap.”
