CORONATION Street fans were left baffled as one business appeared to run itself on the cobbles.
Viewers of the ITV soap opera were left scratching their heads after a scene in last night’s episode which appeared to see the Bistro running without anyone in charge.
In the episode, Leanne Battersby was left shaken to the core as she was forced to make a quick dash from the restaurant to the hospital after complication in her sister’s cancer surgery.
As part of her commitment to The Institute, Leanne has been emotionally distanced from Toyah and has not been there to support her at all throughout her devastating illness.
However, reality finally appeared to hit home for Leanne when she received a call from husband Nick, who had taken Toyah for her operation, to say that complications had arisen during the surgery.
Toyah’s life appeared to be hanging in the balance as Leanne finally appeared to falter as she raced to Weatherfield General in order to be there for her sister.
Eventually, Leanne made it to her sister’s bedside as she finally appeared to understand how choosing to follow The Institute’s path had not been in the best interests of her sister’s health and her family life.
However, for those watching along at home, they could not help but notice another huge blunder.
As Leanne made her way to the hospital, she left the Bistro still very much up and running but seemingly without any staff in charge.
There were still a slew of customers dining at the eatery but only young waiting staff could be seen as it appeared that Leanne had left it open without anyone senior in charge.
It left viewers begging to know if show bosses thought it was representative of reality in a slew of scathing tweets.
One enraged fan asked: “Who’s running the bistro?”
Fans knew that it was still up and running as Amy Barlow opted to meet her financial adviser in the very public setting – another scene that left fans rubbed up the wrong way.
Another comment read: “Amy is having a brains scrammed with number and these two are at the hospital. Whose in charge of the Bistro?”
A third fan penned: “Is wonkey head going to call in on his Bistro business today. Not even a phone call to the staff on duty.”
Before a fourth added: “Sorry, what kind of financial advisor meets in the Bistro and if her own office???”
Leanne’s distance from her loved ones has allowed her husband Nick to grow increasingly close to one another.
Nick has become Toyah’s rock throughout her cancer ordeal and the funeral of her dead daughter.
The pair took things further as they enjoyed an illicit romp after Toyah buried her baby in order to feel closer to one another.
