Will Alya tell Dee-Dee what she's discovered?
DEE-DEE Bailey has been romantically involved with the seemingly perfect man, Joel Deering, for months.
Unfortunately for the Coronation Street favourite, her pal Alya Nazir discovers he could be too good to be true. What is he hiding?
Regular ITV viewers will remember that Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) isn’t easily fooled by anybody in the cobbles.
Following her grandmother Yasmeen’s domestic abuse turmoil with Geoff Metcalfe (whom she’d seen right through almost instantly), the legal secretary is more than able to spot men who could be taking advantage of those closest to her.
Such is the case next week when she finds Joel Deering (Calum Lill) in the company of another woman.
But will she tell her friend Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) about it?
Coming up, as Joel leaves a loved up Dee-Dee’s flat, a receipt falls from his wallet.
Dee-Dee sees it’s from a jeweller’s, dated in December and Joel clearly spent a lot of money.
Joel calls at the solicitors to find Dee-Dee, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) and Alya discussing the receipt.
When Joel makes out he bought himself some cufflinks, Alya jokes about his expensive taste.
As Alya later heads out she spots Joel in a car being driven by a sullen-looking woman.
Alya watches, her suspicions mounting – but what is going on with Joel?
In recent scenes of the Manchester-based program, Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) caught Joel in the presence of another woman in the Bistro and became immediately curious.
But it seems like Alya is more determined than she is to crack the case.
In later scenes, Alya steals herself before showing Dee-dee the CCTV footage from the Bistro.
Dee-Dee confronts Joel, hellbent on getting the truth out of him.
She is horrified when Joel admits that he has a wife, Emily, a daughter, Maisie.
To top it all off, the duty solicitor explains that his wife threw him out when she was pregnant because he had an affair.
Dee-Dee reels in shock but could there be more to Joel’s story?
Will Dee-Dee decide to stay with Joel despite the secrecy… and his marriage?
Theories about Joel have been circulating online for months as viewers of the Manchester-based program have become increasingly convinced that he is too good to be true.
While many of them theorised he could be Lauren Bolton’s secret boyfriend, others believe he may have a secret link to both Harvey Gaskell and Damon Hay.
Joel will have a lot of explaining to do – but where will the truth lie?
