DS Lisa Swain hauls Coronation Street legend in for questioning as her future looks bleak
DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) has her work cut out for her in upcoming Coronation Street scenes as she gets closer to the truth in Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) case.
Lisa has been determined to get justice for vulnerable Lauren, ever since she was attacked earlier this year.
Unfortunately, the detective hasn’t yet come close to catching true culprit Joel Deering (Calum Lill), thanks to his manipulation of victim Lauren.
Swain is currently of the belief that rapist Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) is the man responsible, though with Lauren refusing to agree to a DNA test on her son Frankie, she has hit a brick wall in her investigation.
However, in upcoming scenes, Lisa pulls Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) back in for questioning, determined to get to the bottom of the evidence found in Nathan’s van.
Viewers will know that Sarah planted a lock of Lauren’s hair in Nathan’s van in a bid to get him out of Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) life for good, and police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) decided to turn a blind eye when he caught her in the act.
During her interrogation, Sarah continues to vehemently deny planting the DNA evidence, though she is clearly rattled, as she later begs Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) to persuade Bethany to drop her campaign against Nathan.
However, Daniel later confides in Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) that he doesn’t trust Kit, and suspects there’s something off about Nathan’s conviction.
DS Swain isn’t the only one investigating in upcoming scenes, however, as Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) is equally keen to get to the truth.
Having discovered which jeweller Joel supposedly bought Maeve’s bracelet from, she does a deep dive to find other items of the same value, and is completely stunned by what she discovers.
Later, she pays Lauren a visit in hospital, and is further shocked to learn that she’ll soon be moving to Belfast. In recent scenes, Dee-Dee was confused when Joel received an email asking him to rate his experience of Belfast airport, and though he managed to explain this away at the time, things start falling into place for Dee-Dee.
Dee-Dee is quick to point out the coincidence to Joel, but he gives nothing away. Determined to get to the truth, she begins to follow him.
The next day, she is stunned by his audacity and demands the truth, but will she get it? Is Joel’s secret finally set to come to light?
