Coronation Street spoilers: Fears grow for missing Lauren Bolton as the police get involved
Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) friend Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) was worried this week in Coronation Street when he visited her flat, found the door unlocked, and no-one inside.
After Roy (David Neilson) sacked her from the cafe, he paid a visit to Lauren with her wages. Lauren thanked him for his kindness and revealed her plan to leave Weatherfield and start again.
Later that day, Bobby went to Lauren’s and found the front door unlocked. He let himself in, realised his friend wasn’t there, sent her a text and left again.
Back in Weatherfield, Bobby shared his concerns about Lauren with Max (Paddy Bever), curious about where she might’ve gone.In upcoming episodes, Bobby pays another visit to Lauren’s flat and is troubled when no-one answers the door again.
Worried something sinister is going on, Bobby heads to the police station to report Lauren missing.
During a chat with Craig (Colson Smith), Bobby is reassured when he says he’ll make some enquiries, but what result will Craig bring?
We know that both Lauren and Bobby are set to be involved in a huge storyline this year in Corrie, with boss Iain MacLeod recently saying:
‘Bobby is going to end up surprisingly in the centre of perhaps our biggest story in 2024 which I can’t say too much about now.’
‘But he’s got a brilliant classically Coronation Street role to play at the start as this loveable sarcastic classic Corrie feckless male – and then he abruptly finds himself in the middle of this huge story so I’m really excited about the casting and the part and his role in the next 12 months and beyond’, he added.
The producer also confirmed that Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) will end up a part of this narrative as well.
‘Bethany’s back and we’re all fantastically excited to have her back, she’s incredibly well liked around the building, the viewers love her.
‘She’s a slightly different proposition now from when we last saw her – there’s been a number of years that have elapsed, she’s grown up quite a lot, she’s had the beginnings of a successful journalism career in London and she turns back up and is instantly a foe for Daisy’, Iain revealed.
‘They’re very evenly matched now – Bethany might once have seemed like a younger woman or a girl; she’s very much more a woman now, more on Daisy’s level, so it’s a really heavyweight tussle between these two women, which I’m really looking forward to seeing more of, and actually much like Bobby, Jack Carroll’s character, she will also find herself in the centre of this huge story that we’ve got in 2024′.
