Carla Connor makes huge discovery in Coronation Street about secret betrayal
Could the businesswoman decide to retaliate?
AFTER successfully earning back The Rovers, Daisy Midgeley and Jenny Connor are planning big things for their pub.
But next week in Coronation Street, Carla Connor overhears something shocking and rumbles their huge betrayal.
The Underworld factory boss portrayed by Alison King has been trying to revive business following Stephen Reid’s devious interference last year.
But in doing so, next week on ITV, she figures out that Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and her stepmother Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) have stolen from her.
Coming up, Carla waits for a client in the Chariot Square Hotel and chats to a rep from Waterfords who explains that he’s meeting Daisy, the owner of the Rovers.
Carla assumes he means Jenny, but as she heads off she’s puzzled to see Daisy arrive.
Daisy tells Jenny she’s secured a deal allowing them to stock Newton & Ridley.
Jenny’s annoyed but Daisy points out she is co-owner of the pub.
They’re horrified to realise Carla’s heard every word.
Viewers of the Manchester-based program will recall that the pair of women stooped to a new low in a bid to get their hands back on the Rovers Return Inn.
Jenny was forced to close the iconic pub down as she and her staff were booted out by Waterfords.
Determined to reopen, they managed to put an offer in on the boozer with stolen money.
Daisy took charge to help the pub landlady and successfully accessed Jenny’s late ex-boyfriend Stephen Reid’s accounts, in which he’d been keeping money stolen from Carla’s factory accounts.
Although she was initially against Daisy’s idea to use Carla’s money to buy the Rovers, Jenny had a change of heart following a showdown with the businesswoman on the cobbles, which led her to find out business was back on track at Underworld.
Jenny agreed to Daisy’s plan but she insisted on paying back a blissfully unaware Carla.
Like many other residents of Weatherfield, Carla was taken advantage of by serial killer Stephen Reid who had drugged her with LSD in an attempt to take over Underworld.
Once his plans and murders came to light, Stephen Reid decided to steal Carla’s money and send it over to an account of his own.
But as soap fans will remember, Stephen’s escape did not pan out as he intended as he was mowed over by Peter Barlow.
Could a new feud be brewing in the cobbles?
