Coronation Street Kit Green star’s real-life heartbreak after split from girlfriend
Coronation Street and Hollyoaks star Jacob Roberts reportedly split earlier this year from his girlfriend Amy Harris with the pair removing all traces of one another from social media
Coronation Street’s Jacob Roberts, known for his role as Christopher “Kit” Green, parted ways with his PR executive girlfriend Amy Harris earlier this year after a five-year romance.
The 33-year-old soap actor sparked split rumours in June when he erased all signs of Amy from his Instagram, a move that Amy mirrored, seemingly confirming their break up.
The pair were frequently seen at glitzy events and cosy dinners, with the cause of their separation still a mystery, according to OK!.
Since then, he’s been stirring up drama on Coronation Street, playing a pivotal part in the enigmatic disappearance of Lauren Bolton and Joel’s murder plot. Recently, fans have begun to suspect that Kit might be more entangled in Joel’s death than initially thought, with scenes featuring DS Swain (Vicky Myers) and Kit leading viewers to think they might be implicated, with one of them possibly being Joel’s killer.
One fan speculated on social media: “I’m going full Dee dee style detective with this and I need a life but when Kit and Swain are in Joel’s flat they’re clearly discussing/making sure they have a believable story and are leaving no evidence behind in their cover-up.”, reports the Mirror.
Another viewer suggested: “Rewatched the scenes, when Swain said “Betsy’s involvement changed everything” – she has so killed him/ accidentally killed him.”
Jacob was buzzing about his new gig on the soap, gushing: “It’s absolutely amazing… when I walked on set for the first time it felt a bit overwhelming because the attention to detail is just incredible, it actually makes you feel that you are on a real street.”
He added, “My mum and dad are really chuffed too which is lovely. My mum has always watched Coronation Street, I’ve always kept up to date with it too, so it just feels surreal to be here. Meeting all of the cast and crew was great, I really do feel at home here.”
Spilling the beans on his character, Jacob said: “I’m looking forward to everyone meeting Kit but I do think he is going to be a very misunderstood character at first. He’s been really hurt throughout his life and although he has a good heart, he has some deep-rooted resentment with his biological mum, Bernie, which will be really interesting to play out.”
