Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) is furious with husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) after overhearing some worrying comments in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
The couple’s marriage has never been exactly plain sailing, with Abi having an affair (and subsequently conceiving a child) with Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) twisting the knife to suggest her drug addiction had relapsed.
Despite that, being with Kevin has offered her a chance of security for the first time in her life and she has settled with him at No. 13.
But long will their happiness last?
Upcoming scenes reveal a tense confrontation between the two during a discussion about Steve McDonald’s (Simon Gregson) newest dating app match.
Since his wife Tracy (Kate Ford) departed for a new life in Spain with footballing legend Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn), he’s attempted to put himself back on the market – with little success.
After criticising his dating profile, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) recommended he attend the cocktail night at her Chariot Square Hotel -but was dismayed when only his pensioner father-in-law Ken Barlow (William Roache) managed to woo a woman.
He then tried his luck at Glenda Shuttleworth’s (Jodie Prenger) speed dating night at the Rovers Return, but things didn’t seem to improve for hapless Steve.
In upcoming scenes, feeling more upbeat, Steve tells Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) that he’s joined a new dating site following advice from Abi.
In the café, he shows her a picture of Maggie, a potential match who he is meeting for lunch in the Bistro, and before long Kevin spies over his shoulder to have a nosey.
However, when he makes a sexist remark, Abi can’t believe what she’d heard and storms out.
Is this the start of further turmoil for the Websters?
