CARLA Connor grows closer to a surprising new love interest in Coronation Street.
The character – played by Alison King – has been single since splitting from husband Peter Barlow at Christmas last year.
She hasn’t had an easy time since, dealing with Roy Cropper being falsely imprisoned over Lauren Bolton’s disappearance, and covering for nephew Bobby when he gave false evidence to the police.
Both situations have seen her cross paths with DS Lisa Swain on numerous occasions, and Coronation Street fans have been convinced there could be something romantic brewing between them.
Despite the fact that Carla has only ever had relationships with men while in Weatherfield, new spoilers seem to suggest the fans could have been on to something.
It all starts with Lisa’s daughter Betsy trying to open up to her mum about Mason’s latest threats.
But Lisa is pre-occupied when her phone rings, leading to a frustrated Betsy walking out.
In the factory, Carla assures Betsy that her mum loves her and she needs to cut her a bit of slack, will Betsy make amends with Lisa?
Meanwhile at the station, Lisa quizzes Kit about the evidence planted on Nathan, how will Kit react?
Later, having shared her frustrations about Betsy with Carla, it’s clear Lisa and Carla are growing closer.
How will Betsy feel about their friendship?
It certainly seems like Corrie viewers would be hear for Carla and Lisa to take their budding bond from friendship to romance.
One previously wrote: “Can anyone smell a Connor x Swain romance? #corrie.”
Another added: “I smell some tension between Carla and Swain #Corrie.”
A third tweeted: “Swain walked into the factory looking her best on purpose, girlies. #Corrie.”
