Coronation Street airs unexpected twist as fans say Toyah ‘killed’ missing Lauren
ITV's Coronation Street appeared to throw another spanner in the works on Monday night's show (April 22) as fans seem to think Toyah Battersby could have blood on her hands
Fans of Coronation Street seem to think Toyah Battersby is responsible for the death of Lauren Bolton.
Over the last few weeks, the hit ITV soap has been taking viewers on a mysterious trail as they try to work out who killed young Lauren and whether she is actually dead at all. Last week, Roy Cropper was thrown into jail for Lauren’s murder, meanwhile Daniel Osbourne – who was Lauren’s tutor has been questioned several times by the police over her strange disappearance.
But on Monday night’s show (April 22), fans were left scratching their heads as they questioned whether Toyah also had something to do with missing Lauren. During the hour-long episode, Toyah’s emotions were at an all-time high.
In the tense scenes, Roy’s beloved pet dog Freddie went missing while out on a walk with Sam, but Toyah loses her cool over the ordeal. Toyah is later tasked with locating Freddie and heads to a nearby park, where she sees a number of self-proclaimed internet sleuths digging at a rose bed trying to see if they could find Lauren’s body.
Toyah is appalled by what they were trying to do. In her fiery outburst, Toyah warned the teens off in an aggressive fashion.
But given Toyah’s strange reaction to the situation and the fact that she later visited the same spooky spot to lay flowers, some viewers were convinced that she may be linked to the Lauren mystery. Heading over to X, fans shared their thoughts.
One social media user took to the platform and said: “So Toyah killed Lauren and buried her.” Another confused viewer echoed: “So tonight both Jamie and Honey completed the London marathon without either of them breaking a sweat or showing any signs of fatigue. And f**k knows what is going on in Corrie!!! Toyah murdered Lauren for what reason? Bizarre script.”
A third asked: “Did Toyah kill Lauren or is it a red herring?” While a fourth added: “The editing team making it look like Toyah killed Lauren.”
According to Corrie spoilers, tragedy awaits Toyah as she’s forced to face up to her past. In 2001, Toyah gave birth to a stillborn baby. She later buried the tot in the exact spot where she was seen laying flowers at the end of Monday night’s show.
