Coronation Street and Ted Lasso star reunites with cobbles co-star as he signs up for new BBC comedy
A CORONATION Street star has signed up for a brand new BBC comedy, reuniting him with a cobbles co-star.
The Sun can reveal Bill Fellows has landed his first acting role since quitting Corrie.
We previously told how the 67-year-old chose not to renew his contract with ITV after three years.
And now Bill has signed on for a role in Smoggie Queens, which is centred around a group of LGBTQ+ friends and their community.
Bill has already shot his scenes for the comedy, which is expected to debut soon.
He’s joined former co-star Alexandra Mardell who also stars in the Beeb series.
Also in the cast is Patsy Lowe, Elijah Young, Mark Benton and Phil Dunning.
Bill – who plays Stu Carpenter in Corrie – will bow out in a major storyline later this year.
A source said: “Three years is a long time to spend playing one role and while Bill has loved his time at Corrie, he’s ready to move on.
“He told bosses earlier this year that he would like to leave at the end of his three year contract and they have crafted an exciting exit storyline for him.
“He will still be on screen for some time yet but it gave him chance to say yes to a number of jobs he was keen to do later this year.”
Before Bill arrived on the cobbles in 2021 he starred in smash-hit series Ted Lasso playing George.
