Coronation Street blaze horror as Hope puts entire family in danger after setting fire to living room
A FIRE rocked Coronation Street as one family turned to desperate measures.
In recent weeks, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) have been dealing with their problem child.
Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) is the daughter of Fiz and serial killer, John Stape (Graeme Hawley).
On previous episodes of Coronation Street, she has been struggling with a secret drug addiction.
The adolescent has been addicted to vaping and recently resorted to stealing vapes from the corner shop.
On tonight’s edition of the long-running ITV serial drama, Hope will resort to desperate measures.
She appears cocky at the beginning of the episode as she wanted a “chill day” at home.
After Ruby goes to school, Tyrone and Fiz announce that her headteacher Mrs Crawshaw (Carla Mendonça) will conduct a home visit.
Hope appears to be fuming as she did not want to attend, but her parents insisted.
Tyrone then demands that she empties her pockets to see if she is secretly hiding any vapes.
She once again fumes as she thinks her parents do not trust her, although Tyrone emphasises that trust needs to be “earned”.
Later, her teacher is satisfied with her punishment and she says that Hope could return to school shortly after, although she looks less than pleased.
After school, Ruby (Billie Naylor) returns home but she’s then shocked to suddenly find part of the living room in flames.
While the youngster is panicked, Evelyn (Dame Maureen Lipman) remains calm as she contains the blaze with a fire blanket.
Later in the cafe, she labels her great grandmother a “She-ro” for her expert handling of the situation.
However, Tyrone comes back to the cafe and reveals that fire inspector told him that the fire was started from a vape.
Back at home, he was shouted at Hope for not being able to shake off her old ways, which left the apologetic youngster in tears.
Fiz was not happy with the way her husband spoke to her child, but Tyrone was absolutely insistent.
He claimed that Hope was “out of control” and that Fiz needed to realise it quickly.
