Coronation Street drops hint villain will return – and it’s bad news for three residents
Coronation Street spoilers have teased the possible return of a former villain amid recent reports the character is making a comeback on the ITV soap, and it could spark chaos
Coronation Street viewers may see a familiar face in upcoming episodes, as the imminent return of a villain has been teased.
It seems Rowan Cunliffe is about to make a comeback, after reports suggested the baddie would be back on the show soon. After his scams and schemes were finally exposed, Rowan fled Weatherfield before facing trouble with the police.
Amy Barlow and Leanne Battersby were thrilled to see the back of him amid a cult storyline, after he scammed them out of thousands of pounds. But now it seems he will be returning as Nick Tilsley learns some worrying news next week.
It could be bad news for three residents when he does show his face, as it could mean more than one of them having to face him in court. With both Amy and Leanne conned, there’s every chance they will have to share what happened to them during the trial.
Then there’s Nick, the person who went to the police in the first place and was blackmailed by Rowan. Might he have to go over everything all over again in court?
It’s not yet confirmed by the show Rowan will be back but it’s heavily hinted this will be the case. Next week, spoilers reveal that Nick drops a bombshell on his brother David Platt.

He tells him that Rowan is pleading not guilty to all the charges against him including blackmail and fraud, and so it will have to go to trial. This means we will very likely see Rowan again with actor Emrhys Cooper already confirming the news.
Actor Emrhys recently teased to The Mirror that he could well be back cause trouble very soon. It seems it will only be a temporary return for the character given the storyline.
Meanwhile the star recently revealed all on his next venture, teasing a brand new role ahead. He announced on Instagram that he is starring in a remake of the 1922 classic silent film, Nosferatu.
