Coronation Street’s Tracy McDonald comes clean about her affair with Tommy Orpington next week.
The Weatherfield resident, played by Kate Ford, has been cheating on her husband Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) with former footballer turned painter Tommy after he started decorating their home.
In upcoming scenes, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) tells Tracy he knows about her affair and she has to tell his pal Steve. Tracy returns home with a feeling of dread, but she’s wrongfooted when Steve goes down on one knee and asks her if she’ll renew their vows and Tracy finds herself agreeing.
An excited Steve tells Tim that he and Tracy are renewing their vows and he’d like him to be his best man. Tim’s horrified, will he break the news to Steve that Tracy is sleeping with Tommy? Later in the week, Tracy breaks the news to Ken Barlow (William Roache) and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) that she’s been having a fling with Tommy, Ken and Amy are appalled.
As Tommy puts the finishing touches to their bathroom, Tim tells Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) he wants him gone out of loyalty to Steve. When Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) reveals that Tommy has accepted a job as an assistant coach at a football academy in Spain, but it’s not yet common knowledge, Steve’s intrigued. Is this the end of Tommy’s future in Weatherfield?
Elsewhere, when Daniel Osborne (Rob Mallard) asks Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) if she’ll look after his son Bertie for a few hours she agrees, looking wistfully after Daniel. Daisy confides in Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) that there’s still a spark between her and Daniel and she hopes they can get back together. But with Rita Sullivan’s (Barbara Knox) birthday party in full swing in the Rovers, Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) receives a message and accidentally airdrops it to everyone in the pub. Daisy’s face falls as she reads ‘I had a Torrid Affair with my Acid Attack Hero’.
Daniel apologises to Daisy for failing to warn her about the article but she gives him short shrift. He then tries to make up with Bethany but she too cuts him dead. Having spoken to her editor a fuming Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) tells Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that because of Daisy making a complaint, she’s been sacked.Bethany confronts Daisy, accusing her of sabotaging her career. Daniel heads over, shocked to hear that Daisy had Bethany fired. As the row escalates, Daisy reveals Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) blackmailed her and Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) and only asked Daniel to tutor her so she could increase the pressure. Daniel reels. Back home Daisy broods, but when Jenny reveals she’s got a visitor, Daisy’s gobsmacked to see Ryan.
