Coronation Street fans call out TWO ‘confusing’ blunders as Mason sentenced in tense courtroom scenes
Corrie teens had been tormented by the bully in a dark storyline
CORONATION Street fans were delighted to finally see Mason get his comeuppance in court, but several were left confused after spotting two blunders during the tense scenes.
The bully was finally exposed to the legal system after threatening Liam Connor with a knife in a shocking episode that aired late last year.
Mason’s reign of terror got so bad that Liam contemplated taking his own life before bravely opening up about the situation.
Once in court the twisted teen managed to get Dylan to lie in his defence, saying there was no weapon involved.
But after Liam walked out, upset by his friend’s betrayal, Dylan confessed the truth.
The families of both youngsters were overwhelmed by relief when the judge found Mason guilty.
However, several audience members at home were confused by a couple of the plot points.
Corrie fans pointed out that Dylan and Liam testified via a live video, presumably so Mason wouldn’t get the chance to intimidate them in court.
But the boys then headed back to the halls of justice to see the conclusion of the case.
One person queried the strange move, asking: “Why would Liam give evidence by video link and then be sat in the court room?”
A second chipped in: “I’ve never been to court, but I’m a bit confused as to why both Liam and Dylan were questioned via video link, only to then be in the courtroom with Mason anyway?”
A third also asked: “I’m no legal eagle, but what’s the point in giving evidence on a video link and then putting them in the same room as Mason?”
Others also took issue with the fact that Mason had no family members in the docks supporting him as he faced the verdict of a custodial sentence.
Someone wondered: “How comes mad Mason’s dad wasn’t at court? I was expecting a right gangster and a blond tarty gobby side piece.”
A second agreed, questioning: “How come the only person supporting Mason in court was a mate and not his family? Or are they all in jail too?”
Meanwhile a third sarcastically joked: “Clearly giant Mason’s giant family family couldn’t fit in the court room. Unless they’re all in prison.”
