CORONATION Street fans have been left very concerned for Bernie Winter’s safety after her long-lost son Kit Green made a spine-chilling confession about his character.
Kit (Jacob Roberts), who has been unwilling to reconcile with his birth mum Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove), recently stated to his half-brother Paul (Peter Ash) that he’s “not always a nice person.”
Bernie met her long-lost son Kit for the first time back in May, although she didn’t know it at the time. After discovering his identity, Bernie has tried to get to know Kit and have a relationship with him.
However, Kit has wanted nothing to do with her.
Since arriving in Weatherfield, the corrupt copper has made his anger toward her very clear. He’s also revealed his true colours by interfering in Bernie’s relationships with her kids.
Wanting to cause problems for Bernie, Kit told her kids, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash), that he was their long-lost brother before she could tell them herself.
Kit later admitted he wanted his half-siblings to be as angry with Bernie as he is.
But Paul, who is grappling with motor neurone disease (MND), communicated with Kit through his Eyegaze machine and implored him to forgive their mother.
“I need you to forgive Mum properly. I know she hurt you. She was a mess back then, more than she is now. She loves you, she wants your forgiveness. We all want that,” he begged.
But as Kit responded by sharing his feelings, he admitted he’s not ready to do this.
“I’m not going to sugarcoat this because of this situation. Ever since she didn’t turn up that day, I have been angry,” he said.
“Like really angry, but then I met you guys, and I wanted you to hate her for what she did, so I focused on the worst things. I tried to make it as hard as possible for her.”
The conversation then took a chilling turn, when Kit added: “The truth is Paul, I’m not always a nice person.”
And the situation worsened when Paul suddenly began to struggle with his breathing.
A worried Kit quickly called for help, but Bernie arrived just in time to stabilise Paul’s breathing machine.
Both equally distressed by the event, Kit and Bernie comfort each other over a drink at The Rovers, hinting that a reconciliation might be possible after all.
However, some Corrie fans aren’t convinced that all the drama is over as they’re still reeling from Kit’s confession that he’s “not always a nice person.”
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, to discuss the situation, one viewer said: “Kit’s not always a nice person, that’s an understatement.”
While another warned: “Don’t leave Kit alone with Paul!”
A third pleaded: “Can Kit not just be nice?” But, by the character’s own admission, it seems not.
Is Kit still out for revenge? And could he really be capable of doing something so sinister like hurting Paul just to cause Bernie more pain?
