Coronation Street fans ‘switch off’ as unexpected character set to be ‘killed off’
Coronation Street fans are convinced newcomer Lauren Bolton is going to be killed off, after she was left writhing in pain in Friday night's episode before being rushed to hospital
Coronation Street fans are on the edge of their seats after the show teased a shock exit in the aftermath of deeply distressing scenes that left viewers reaching for the remote last week.
In the episode on August 2, viewers watched in horror as Lauren Bolton crumpled to the ground in torment, whilst desperately comforting her unborn child. “It’s okay. We’re going to be okay. He’ll be back soon. I promise we’ll be fine,” Lauren said through distress-racked sobs.
As she continued to scream out in distress with tears streaming down her face, an uncertain knock sounded at the door and instead of the dastardly Joel Deering, it was Max Turner who appeared. He’d found her address listed on a taxi app that Lauren had previously used on his phone.
“It saved this address. Are you okay?” Max inquired from behind the door, while a pained Lauren responded: “No, something’s wrong. The baby’s coming,” reports the Express.
With immense concern, Max told her, “No, no, Lauren, it’s way too soon.” To which the anguished young mum-to-be exclaimed: “It really hurts, Max. I can’t get out.” Max tried to offer some solace, urging her to, “Just hang in there, okay? It’s all going to be all right, I promise.”
One worried supporter pleads: “He better not do anything to that little baby,” The intensity of recent episodes hasn’t gone unnoticed with some admitting they’ve found it all a bit much. “Storylines of late have been tough to watch… need some more levity as life has enough! ” shared one person seeking relief.
Echoing a common sentiment among viewers yearning for the good old days, one asks: “Not watched for eight months because of these awful storylines when can we get back to proper Corrie? ” Another eager fan suggests a light-hearted escape: “Quite distressing to watch. I still think we need to see happy episodes of Rita, Audrey, Gail and Mary on a girls’ holiday to Majorca. Please can we start having happy scenes? “.
