Coronation Street hints at Joel Deering’s secret victims after worrying phone clue
Coronation Street's latest episode may have teased more of Joel Deering's victims after it was revealed he had groomed Lauren Bolton and someone named Ellie too
Coronation Street may have revealed there’s more young girls who have been groomed by Joel Deering on the ITV soap,
Last week we found out Joel was the man who harassed and later attacked Lauren Bolton, with him revealed as her killer in a horrific flashback. Months on from Lauren going missing and blood being found at her flat, Joel was revealed to be the last person to see her alive.
He was seen attacking Lauren as she screamed for help, seemingly killing her. But Lauren wasn’t his only victim, as we then met a girl named Ellie who was revealed to have been targeted by Joel too.
Ellie claimed Nathan Curtis was the man who groomed her, with Nathan also being charged over Lauren’s murder. But a later scene revealed Joel was setting Nathan up, and he was the man who had groomed Ellie just like Lauren.
It’s clear there’s more than one victim, and perhaps we haven’t found out how many girls Joel has targeted. But a worrying scene in the latest episode may have teased other victims.
There was a seen where Joel was scrolling through his phone, and what looked like his phone history. We also met someone who lived with Ellie, amid Ellie vanishing just like Lauren.
Aoife, played by Julia Carlile who viewers may recognise from Britain’s Got Talent, made her debut onscreen on Monday. While there was no confirmation she was linked to Joel perhaps she could be another of his victims, given she lives with Ellie.
As the police came looking for her friend, Aoife explained Ellie and fled the house rather suddenly. Revealing she had been scared, she said Ellie packed her things and fled without a word.
Given we have seen Joel at Ellie’s house recently amid their constant contact, is it likely that Aoife knows Joel? Perhaps her living with Ellie is a clue she is another girl targeted by Joel.
As for the phone scene, there was a phone call from ‘no caller ID’ as well as a handful of calls from someone named Jay. Could Jay be another teen who has been targeted by Joel who we’ve yet to meet?
