Coronation Street Joel’s real killer ‘revealed’ in flashback – but it’s ‘not Mason’
Coronation Street appeared to hint at the identity of Joel Deering's killer on Wednesday night, as one character was spotted with the murder weapon in a flashback
Coronation Street viewers may have seen Joel Deering’s killer revealed already as Wednesday night dropped a major clue.
While it could be a red herring with fans no doubt expecting as much, might Corrie have actually let slip the murderer already in a twist? While it’s been teased as a whodunnit with a number of suspects, some not yet confirmed, perhaps Corrie have pulled off an almighty twist by giving the truth away already.
On Wednesday night we saw Mason Radcliffe pulled in for questioning by police after he was seen trying to get rid of a crowbar, the weapon believed to be used to kill Joel. Joel’s body was found in a river, and it was said he had suffered two fatal blows to the head.
Detective Kit Green revealed Joe’s flat door had been busted too with a heavy weapon like a crowbar. The same tool was thought to be the murder weapon, with Mason seen holding one.
While Mason had his own flashback and his own motive for killing Joel, identified as a suspect, it wasn’t him teased to be the killer. In fact another character also secretly possessed a crowbar on the night Joel was killed.

Ronnie Bailey continued to spark suspicion on Wednesday, just an episode on from him confirming he and brother Ed bailey were hiding something. With him clearly having a motive after Joel betrayed his niece Dee-Dee Bailey, might Ronnie have taken revenge?
It was clear he was up to something, having told Ed they needed to keep their secret and that no one would find out. Then on Wednesday night a flashback revealed what he was up to the night Joel died, ahead of Friday’s episode teasing he may have been at Joel’s flat.
In his flashback, Ronnie was seen angrily rummaging through a toolbox in Ed’s builder’s yard. He eventually came across a crowbar, raising it in the air.
We know that Joel’s flat was broken into, with a spoiler for Friday’s episode teasing Ronnie’s car was in the area outside the flat the night Joel vanished. We also now know a crowbar was used to kill Joel, and that Ronnie was in possession of one the night he was murdered.
As the episode ended with Ronnie looking rather guilty, could this be the clue we need to confirm Ronnie killed Joel? Or perhaps he dealt one of the fatal blows, and someone else also harmed him?
