Coronation Street is lining up a new mystery with Lauren Bolton and Max Turner on the ITV soap.
The pair spark suspicion after acting strangely in upcoming scenes amid the murder of someone linked to them. The pals and former love interests have grown closer in recent episodes, after Lauren’s baby son Frankie was left seriously ill.
The newborn was born prematurely after Joel Deering drugged Lauren while she was pregnant, sickeningly trying to kill her baby. Next week there’s an update on Frankie’s condition after he was left fighting for his life.
Amid this update, there’s the shocking news that Joel’s body has been found. It soon emerges the character has been murdered, with several characters questioned about the crime, including Lauren.
As the storyline unfolds, Bobby Crawford is keen to be with Lauren after their brief romance earlier in the year. Bobby promises to be there for Lauren and Frankie, as a doctor informs Lauren that Frankie’s doing well enough to be discharged next month.
Away from Lauren, Bobby confesses to Max that his feelings for Lauren are unchanged and he longs to be with her. Max is left feeling awkward about Bobby’s admission, but how will Lauren feel?

When Nick Tilsley, Max’s uncle, asks Lauren how she found sleeping on the sofa at No.8 the other week, could this be a hint that she and Max are hiding something? It’s such a random scene that it almost hints there’s more to it.
In that same episode, Bobby finds Max and Lauren in the Rovers but then Max makes a swift exit. Bobby notices this and questions what is going on, sensing that both Max and Lauren are hiding something.
He’s picked up on their shifty behaviour, and knows something is up. So when Lauren also rushes out, Bobby is left confused – but what are the pair hiding?
Of course there’s two things that could be going on here that would explain Max and Lauren’s actions. Firstly, the weird comment about the sofa and Bobby’s love confession.
Is there something going on between Max and Lauren romantically? Might the pair have secretly rekindled things, and that’s why they are acting weirdly around Bobby amid his declaration of love?
Or perhaps there’s a separate cover-up going on in the form of a crime. After all, Lauren’s attacker Joel has just been found dead with someone to blame. Do Max and Lauren know what happened to him, and might one or both of them be the killer? Either way it’s surely bad news for Bobby!
