Coronation Street legend Ken Barlow (William Roache) returns to Weatherfield after his trip to Porto next week, but he has some bad news for his travel companion.
Ken jetted off with carer Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) in business class after an impressive win on his premium bonds – much to the horror of Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).
After sharing a night of passion, things turned nasty when Steve accused Cassie of being after Ken’s money – something she vehemently denied.
In upcoming scenes, Ken’s family are relieved when he reveals that he has taken a look at his finances and has decided to let Cassie go.
Ken thanks Cassie and informs her that her services are no longer needed – but how will she react?
Unfortunately, t isn’t long before Ken realises that he may have made a mistake when he falls ill.
Needing her help, he offers Cassie an extra pound an hour if she agrees to come back to work.
When Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) catches wind of this, she confronts Cassie, flanked by Steve and Adam, and warns her to stop sponging off Ken and to sling her hook.
Tracy is adamant that she will be the one to look after Ken, but when he suffers a nosebleed and reveals that he’s feeling really ill, she is forced to take him to the hospital.
As Steve spells it out to Cassie that she no longer has a job as Ken’s carer, will the family come to regret their decision?
