Coronation Street police make two shock arrests over Lauren Bolton’s murder
One arrest follows a highly controversial return to Weatherfield - but are they guilty?
LAUREN Bolton’s disappearance has been a major mystery in Coronation Street for some time.
However, spoilers for upcoming scenes see police arrest two people who are linked to the case on some level.
Lauren first appeared in the ITV soap back in November 2022 and formed a relationship with Max Turner (Paddy Bever).
Earlier this year, the teen vanished under mysterious circumstances after being sacked from Roy’s Rolls.
Although a body has not been found, the police, namely DS Swain (Vicky Myers), became convinced beloved café owner Roy Cropper was responsible for Lauren’s presumed murder.
Much to the fury of his family and friends who remain certain of his innocence, Roy was later charged.
In the meantime, vile groomer Nathan Curtis (played by Christopher Harper) recently made his return, having been released from prison.
Former victim Bethany (played by Lucy Fallon) has immediately become convinced he is involved with Lauren’s disappearance.
Bethany’s family have become concerned that she is becoming obsessed with Nathan and proving her theory right.
It comes as her mum Sarah (Tina O’Brien) has gone to desperate lengths to deal with Nathan once and for all.
In upcoming scenes, new police officer Kit (Jacob Roberts) arrests Nathan on suspicion of breaching his sexual harm prevention order, after searching his van and finding some USB sticks.
This is not the only arrest to come in scenes yet to air, as one of the Street’s newest residents also finds himself taken in by police.
Carla’s (Alison King) long-lost nephew Bobby, played by comedian and Britain’s Got Talent star Jack Carroll, Carla’s (Alison King) long-lost nephew Bobby made his debut on the soap at the end of last year.
He is the son of Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis), the man who murdered beloved barmaid Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) a decade ago – and remains in prison for the crime.
In scenes yet to air, DS Swain arrests Bobby on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Bobby’s arrest comes as he previously made the decision to lie to the police.
Speaking to DS Swain, Bobby lied and insisted he was surprised by a man in a balaclava in Lauren’s flat the night he discovered she was missing.
Swain didn’t appear to believe him but she took his statement and Bobby went home.
His actions were in a desperate attempt to find Lauren and also to help Roy, as he feared Lauren was still being held captive by the real kidnapper.
