Coronation Street sees major turn in Joel’s murder case and Lauren is in trouble
Coronation Street's Lauren Bolton was upset after her boyfriend Max took the fall for the murder or Joel Deering – but things take a turn after yet another twist
Joel Deering’s murdered was revealed on Coronation Street last week – but his case is far from over.
In tonight’s episode (Wednesday, November 20) viewers of the ITV soap are treated to the aftermath of Joel’s (Callum Lill) murder. Max (Paddy Bever) is still locked up pending a trial, and Lauren (Cait Fitton) is scrambling to try and help her boyfriend from the outside. While viewers were shown Lauren murdering her ex-abuser, Max took the fall for her crimes to keep her with her son, Frankie.
In the latest instalment, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), hires a top range lawyer to give his son the best chance of getting out. But it’s not going well for the Platt family, when Max refuses David a visit in prison.
He fills in his wife Shona (Julia Goulding) about the issue and worries that Max might take after Shona’s son Clayton (Callum Harrison), as he attempted suicide in prison. Hearing this, Lauren grows even more guilty and scrambles to try and get Max out.
She goes to Shona and has an emotional conversation. In the end, she finally reveals the truth and tries to plead the Shona. She shows her the letter and convinces Shona it was Max’s idea to be sent down.
Shona, however, is not convinced. She takes the letter to David who is furious when he sees. Not stopping there, he heads down to the police station and hands it over.
Police later arrest Lauren, who explains her pre-arranged alibi. However, when Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) shows her the letter, Lauren spills all to the police.
After much begging and pleading to be allowed to stay with her son, Kit delivered a blow and suggested it’s unlikely she’d be able to avoid a murder charge when put on trial.
There was no mention on what this could do for Max, but some suggestions reveal he might be punished for perverting the course of justice.
Lauren, however, will face the full force of the Police and her guilt.
