Coronation Street spoilers: Dev reveals heartbreaking secret about his many missing children

Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) had an emotional conversation with Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) in Friday’s (May 3) episode of Coronation Street about his children – and we’re not just talking about Asha (Tanisha Gorey) and Aadi (Adam Hussain).

In 2005, Dev’s wife Sunita discovered he had fathered children with employees at his various shops.

The children included teenager Amber Kalirai. We also know Dev has another three other children, with one of them being called Shareen.

In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Dev popped by to see Bernie after an afternoon of golf.

He was thrilled with how well he had done, but he then spotted a tin on the table and grew curious.

Initially, Bernie was reluctant to open up about what was inside, but she then explained it was full of photos and old crafts from all of her children.

Bernie then asked Dev about the children he doesn’t see and how that makes him feel – and we were absolutely not prepared for his response.

Dev sat beside Bernie and said sometimes, the fact he doesn’t see all of his children weighs so heavily on him, it stops him sleeping at night.

The monologue saw Dev talk about regret and how he wonders how much everyone has missed out on as a result of what happened in his past.

‘It’s a lot’, he said, overwhelmed with emotion.

The chat with Dev impacted Bernie a great deal.

Following the arrival of ex-partner Denny, we know Bernie is hiding a secret from her family – which will turn out to be the fact she has another son.
