Coronation Street spoilers: George makes a massive decision as he fears losing all he loves
George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) tries to call a truce in Coronation Street soon after starting a feud with his sister Glenda (Jodie Prenger).
Recently George had a shock when he discovered that his father, Archie Shuttleworth (Roy Hudd), had left the undertakers’ business jointly to him and his sister, rather than the whole business belonging to him.
He decided to keep the information quiet, but then started to feel guilty about deceiving his sister.
‘He’s in this quandary of not want to short-change his sister but also not wanting to hand her half a business that she’s going to sink into the ground in five seconds, if she gets her hands on it!’ Tony Maudsley told us at the time.
‘She was never a responsible kid. She couldn’t even look after her pets properly. Pets died and she went and got another one or she’d wait for a new fad to kick in and say she wanted a terrapin. Things like that.
When Glenda discovered the information, she attempted to sue her brother, but was told by Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) it would be incredibly costly and there was no guarantee she’d win anyways.
She then attempted to twist the knife further into George by putting the funeral parlour up for sale. A furious George told her sister that their dad had good reason not to leave her the business because she’s a complete liability.
After learning of Glenda’s plan to try and contest the will, George apologises to her and hands her a cheque for £22k by way of compromise, hoping it will mark an end to their feud.
But will they get back on track?
Or will Glenda have another plan up her sleeve?
