Coronation Street spoilers: Nick’s fears for Leanne and Simon as they are drawn deeper into cult

Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) becomes increasingly worried by his family’s involvement with the mysterious Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper) in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.

Nick’s fiancée Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) is first introduced to Rowan when adoptive son Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) began attending his ‘self help’ group at the Chariot Square Hotel following his drink driving conviction.

Feeling down after his dad Peter (Chris Gascoyne) left Weatherfield, Simon hit the bottle which led to some dangerous consequences.

After losing his job at Underworld and growing his sorrows in the bar of the Rovers Return, he was reluctant to take Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) to a chess competition for fears he would be over the limit.

With Nick forcing him out of the house, he got into the car and lost control of the wheel, eventually fleeing the scene.

After being handed a six month driving ban and an 80 hour community service order, Simon caught the help of the ‘Institute’ group, something which Leanne was initially sceptical of until Rowan managed to woo her.

In upcoming scenes, Simon is pleased to see that Nick and Leanne’s relationship is going smoothly following a brief tiff over his appearance in court.

But there’s a catch – it seems that she’s only made amends as a result of some advice she’s received from Rowan.

Simon suggests that since his top tips are obviously having a good impression on his mum, she should join him at the next meeting.

At the hotel, Rowan is delighted to see her again and revels in the compliments they give him on his seminar.

Back at home, Leanne raves about how inspiring she found the meeting to Nick, who shows signs of concern.
