Coronation Street star left ‘furious’ as fraudster creates ‘disturbing’ havoc online
Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, known for his role as Tyrone Hobbs in the ITV soap, was reportedly left seething when his identity was hijacked by a Facebook scammer.
Back in 2010, the impostor deceived Alan’s family and friends and managed to create a following of 550 people by posting fabricated insights into the actor’s personal life and the soap’s plotlines.
Friends from Alan’s childhood, who is notably absent from Facebook, fell victim to the charade. His wife at the time, Lucy-Jo Hudson, turned to Twitter to express her shock at the “disturbing” deception
“What freak would do this? Clearly he has no life. All Al’s old school mates think they’re talking to him. He’s just been making stuff up. It’s is quite disturbing.”
Following Alan’s report, the fraudulent page was pulled down by Facebook.
In more recent developments, Alan opened up about his single status since his breakup with Tisha Merry, known for playing Steph Britton on Corrie.
The former sweethearts, whose romance sparked in 2018 after meeting on set, confirmed their split in February this year.
The pair have kept quiet on their post-breakup lives, yet Alan hinted at his current state of mind through a candid social media update this week, reports OK!.

Coronation Street’s Alan gave his followers a chuckle with an Instagram video featuring his daughter Sienna-Rae and a dog, jokingly calling the pooch a ‘new best friend’ until it got a bit too friendly.
The actor quipped: “Apparently we’re not best friends. Most action I’ve had in a while ffs fml.”
He followed up with another post alongside the dog, captioning it: “New Tinder profile picture”, suggesting he might be ready to jump back into the dating scene. Alan shares Sienna-Rae with ex-wife and fellow Hollyoaks actress Lucy-Jo Hudson, whom he was married to for nearly a decade.
The Sun broke the news of Alan’s split from Tisha Merry in February, with insiders claiming: “Alan and Tisha had a lot of love for each other and had really similar interests, enjoying socialising and going on holiday together. But they started to drift apart and feel the pressure of making their relationship work get on top of them.”
“They realised they weren’t on the same page and splitting up felt like the best option. They’ve been focusing on themselves and surrounding themselves with their own friends.”
Before things turned romantic, Alan and Tisha were just mates who bonded over yoga on set.
Tisha even moved into Alan’s Manchester home as their relationship heated up, but reportedly left after they called it quits.
In addition to enjoying his single status, Alan has been on the mend after undergoing reconstructive surgery on his ACL in November due to an injury. After the operation, he took a hiatus from Coronation Street and resumed filming in January.
