Coronation Street teen shares love with co-star Cait Fitton in birthday tribute

Coronation Street star Cait Fitton received a touching birthday tribute from her best friend and fellow co-star.

The Lauren Bolton actress recently celebrated her 22nd birthday and actor Liam McCheyne, who plays Dylan Wilson on the soap, posted a string of snaps to celebrate her.

‘I did promise no mug shots!’ he penned.

‘But I’m just wishing a very happy birthday to my best friend @caitfitt0n. A year older but still a kid at heart, lol. Thank you for always being there no matter what. Here’s too many more memories ❤️ Hope you have an amazing day.

‘And enjoy 22!’

Replying to the cute caption, Cait commented: ‘Thank you bestoooo 🙏🏽❤️.’

Cait’s soap character Lauren has gone missing in Coronation Street, resulting in widespread speculation from fans as to what exactly has happened to her.

Lauren was last seen on screen chatting to Roy Cropper (David Neilson) in her flat, after having been sacked from her job at the cafe.

Roy had come over to drop off her final wages, and in their conversation Lauren revealed that she planned to leave Weatherfield and start afresh.

However, when Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) later went round to see her, he found the front door of her flat unlocked, but the entire place empty, making the circumstances surrounding her disappearance suspicious to say the least.

Max Turner (Paddy Bever) has suspicions about what could have happened to Lauren after he asks Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) about his tutoring sessions with Lauren.

When Max goes to the police to tell them about Lauren’s O-Vidz account, they’re also interested to hear if he knows anything about the secret boyfriend that Lauren often talked about. Max says that he never met Lauren’s boyfriend, but he always suspected it was Daniel.

This is enough to raise DS Swain’s suspicions and she talks to Daniel, suggesting that perhaps Lauren paid for their tutoring sessions with sex.

Daniel is horrified by this suggestion but Swain mentions some episodes from Daniel’s history that suggest he mightn’t be as squeaky clean as he’s making out.

There’s his prior relationship with former sex worker Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson), for one thing.

Another is when he was accused of ‘blurring the boundaries’ when he was a teacher and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) was a pupil who had a crush on him – and someone else he gave private tuition to.

None of this looks good for Daniel and he begins to get seriously worried when he discovers that the police are now treating Lauren’s disappearance as possible murder – and he’s in the frame.
