Just hours on from the shocking revelation that Joel Deering (Calum Lill) killed Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) in Coronation Street, one resident already has their eye on him…
Finally, after being missing since the end of February, we finally learnt that Lauren was brutally hit over the head several times and then left for dead in her flat.
Meanwhile, innocent Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was freed from prison after being wrongly accused of her murder. It was just in the nick of time too, as knife-wielding terrorist Griff Reynolds had held him hostage in his cell.
He owes a lot to detective Kit Green (Jacob Roberts, who planted evidence to frame paedophile Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) for the crime.
With the wrong man behind bars, the investigation is likely to wrap up soon ahead of his trial – whilst Joel walks around Weatherfield, basking in the golden glow of knowing his dirty little secret has been brushed under the carpet.
But we reckon it won’t be too long before he’s found out, even if actor Calum Lill is hoping otherwise!
‘I hope Joe’s very good at hiding because I really enjoy coming to work, but for soap justice I know that at some point he’s going to be found out’ Calum told us.
‘It is such a gift of a part. I couldn’t have wished for a better opportunity to be given to me by ITV and Coronation Street.
‘I’ve never I’ve never been so busy and I’ve never had to learn so many lines in my life, but I’ve also never been so happy and fulfilled.’
Judging by the latest spoiler video for tonight’s (31st May) episode, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) isn’t going to settle until she gets to the bottom of the case – and has returned to full-on Stacey Dooley, investigative journalist mode.
Speaking with boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), she reckons Ellie (Lola Blue), the sex worker she met with Nicky Wheatley (Kimberley Hart-Simpson) may have the answers.
Bethany gatecrashed Nicky’s meeting with the troubled youngster, and in a desperate bid to garner info on Nathan, she bombarded her with questions promoting her to run off.
We later see her showing his mugshot to Ellie, asking if he was the man who attacked Lauren.
The clip also shows Joel kissing girlfriend Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), and telling her he loves her, before the two enjoy a pint in the Rovers. However, Bethany is sat on the other side of the bar and gives him a menacing glare.
Has she sussed what’s going on?!
