Coronation Street viewers floored as fans spot evil Rowan star’s famous ‘doppelganger’
Coronation Street's evil Rowan Cunliffe has rocked the boat since he stepped foot in Weatherfield but fans will never look at him quite the same way again when they see this comparison
Coronation Street’s Rowan Cunliffe has made his mark on the cobbles despite only arriving in Weatherfield a very short time ago.
He has been grooming Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) into his devious plot with the Bistro owner already distancing herself from loved ones and quitting her job to splurge on ‘wellness’ products,
Rowan’s influence has only seemed to grow as he tried persuading her to pour £40,000 into his shady business venture. However, away from the serious storylines, fans have been in hysterics at the similarity between Rowan, played by 39-year-old Emrhys Cooper, and a very cheesy 90s TV legend.
Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one cheeky fan posted a pic of Rowan alongside Noel’s House Party star Noel Edmonds. Seventy four year old Noel presented the anarchic show on BBC One for eight years from 1991 to 1999, introducing the world to Mr Blobby.
He went on to host Deal Or No Deal on Channel 4 from 2005 to 2016 and then took part in the eighteenth series of I’m A Celeb in 2018. His rumoured £600,000 fee made him the highest paid participant ever in the show’s history to date, even though he was first to be voted out.
The two photos were captioned: “Just saying #Corrie,” and showed the striking similarities between the stars, despite their 35 year age difference, including blond highlights and carefully manicured beards.

Fans were quick to comment, with one person simply replying: “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” while another said: “Noel Edmond’s love child” with two crying laughing emojis. A third person added: “Brilliant,” and a fourth said: “I hope Noel Edmond is receiving royalties…”
Emrhys has also been causing a stir on Instagram, turning up the heat with some sizzling shirtless snaps, leaving fans absolutely gobsmacked. In one of his Instagram posts, he is seen soaking up the sun aboard a luxury yacht, sporting blue and white swim shorts that showcase his muscular frame. Another photo features him proudly showing off his washboard abs, humorously noting: “Documenting my abs before they disappear.”
Fans didn’t hold back their admiration in the comments section, with one fan exclaiming, “Oh my goodness sexy,” while another declared, “You are too handsome to be real.”
Emrhys – who was brought up in a cult – began his career working alongside Madonna, the Pussycat Dolls and Christina Aguilera to name a few. He even played the ‘lift boy’ in the music video for the Sugababes number one hit single, Push The Button.
