Coronation Street ‘work out missing evidence’ that will prove Joel Deering’s crimes

Coronation Street viewers have recalled a scene from months ago that could expose Joel Deering’s crimes on the ITV soap.

One character could be key to proving what he did to Lauren Bolton amid him playing dirty, and trying to cover up his lies. Joel has tried to set up Lauren after she finally went to the police about him.

Viewers know that earlier this year Joel attacked Lauren and left her for dead after a secret relationship. Joel coerced Lauren into a sexual relationship before attacking her when she tried to end it.

Joel’s fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey found out the truth this week, along with the fact Lauren fell pregnant with Joel’s child. Lauren welcomed a premature baby boy in a recent episode after Joel drugged her with pills in the hope of triggering an early labour, not wanting the baby to survive in sickening scenes.

With Dee-Dee working out Joel had been lying about things, she soon realised that his mystery jewellery shop purchase was the necklace given to Lauren by her mystery boyfriend months earlier. Now knowing this to be Joel after Lauren confessed everything, Dee-Dee took action.

But as Joel was questioned by DS Swain after Lauren and Dee-Dee went to the police, he turned the tables. He claimed Lauren deliberately took abortion pills, while spinning other lies to cover his tracks.

After Dee-Dee kicked him out he also dropped her in it, claiming she was working with Lauren to bring him down as revenge for their fling. Determined to stand by Lauren’s side and bring her justice, Dee-Dee revealed she could also play dirty and installed a tracker on Joel’s phone, allowing Lauren to feel safer.

But amid Joel seemingly avoiding justice for the time being some fans think they know what will expose him. With Joel claiming the pair are lying, one character might be able to prove some of the timeline of events and what happened with Lauren.

Fans will recall that around May while Lauren was still missing, Hope Stape found missing Lauren’s necklace, the one Joel had purchased, in Joel’s car after she cleaned the vehicle. Joel was unnerved and this proved to fans that he was the attacker, before Lauren’s true fate was revealed.

If Hope reveals she found the necklace in Joel’s car, this would not only prove he bought it and that he had a relationship with Lauren, but it could also back Lauren’s claims about the attack. For Joel to have her necklace on him after Lauren’s attack and while she was still missing, with the necklace vanishing after her disappearance, surely it would prove he was the last person to see her and that he was in fact behind her attack.

Why else would Joel have the necklace that he gave to her, the very same necklace he then failed to hand in to DS Swain? So perhaps Hope will clarify these details, helping Lauren and Dee-Dee to back their version of events!
