Coronation Street‘s Alan Halsall has split from his former co-star Tisha Merry after five years of dating, according to reports.

The Tyrone Dobbs actor, 41, met Tisha back in 2014 and started dating in 2019 when she left her role as Steph Britton on the soap.

However, The Sun claims that the pair called it quits at the beginning of the year.

A source shared: ‘Alan and Tisha had a lot of love for each other and had really similar interests, enjoying socialising and going on holiday together.

‘But they started to drift apart and feel the pressure of making their relationship work get on top of them. They realised they weren’t on the same page and splitting up felt like the best option.’

The pair first sparked romance rumours back in January 2019 after they played an early morning game of badminton together, with one fan commenting: ‘U make a lovely couple’, while another added: ‘Please say you two are a couple.’

A month later they fuelled further speculation after they were snapped together during a day out watching rugby.

The actress appeared in Corrie from 2013-2017 as Steph Britton – returning again briefly in 2018.

Steph was a waitress at Nick’s Bistro who went on to play a more significant role in the soap after becoming the flatmate of Michelle Keegan’s character Tina McIntyre.

She was involved in some major storylines during her time on the cobbles, including Tina’s death and the funeral, as well as her relationship with Andy Carver (Oliver Farnworth).

Actor Alan was previously married to Hollyoaks actress Lucy-Jo Hudson in 2009.

The couple announced that they had separated back in 2016 – saying at the time they would remain close friends.

The pair are parents to daughter Sienna Rae, who was born in 2013.
