Coronation Street’s Carla and Bobby caught out over Roy lies
Will they regret their actions?
Coronation Street‘s Carla Barlow and Bobby Crawford face further problems next week as Roy Cropper gets closer to the truth.
Carla and Bobby are currently in cahoots, with a desperate plan to get Roy out of prison.
Roy was recently arrested and charged with Lauren Bolton’s murder following her mysterious disappearance, but viewers know he’s entirely innocent.
Bobby has since given lead detective DS Swain a false statement to save Roy, telling her he witnessed a strange man leaving Lauren’s flat. Although Carla initially disapproved of Bobby’s tactics, she later told him they need to do whatever it takes to save Roy.
Next week, Roy gets his hopes up as he tells one of the prison officers that new evidence has come to light in his case.
Roy, who’s currently on remand ahead of a trial, optimistically predicts that he might get released.
Dee-Dee Bailey tries her best to fight Roy’s corner in court as she makes a new bail application. She explains that Bobby saw a man leaving Lauren’s flat, one who didn’t match Roy’s description, but the judge dismisses this and says it’s not enough to secure the café owner’s freedom.
When Dee-Dee catches up with Roy in his cell, she urges him not to give up hope, despite the setback.
She explains the police are now planning a reconstruction, which could bring further new evidence out into the open.
Later, though, Roy calls Carla from prison and insists they need to talk about Bobby’s statement.
Has Roy realised that Bobby lied to the police in a plan to save him?
